New Linux BMR (ReaR) - action Required - EOL Legacy Linux BMR - Jan 1 2016

Last Updated: Dec 02, 2015 11:21PM EST

As per this announcement

Please ensure you enter the wizard for all Linux servers utilizing Linux BMR (Legacy) and activate Linux BMR (Rear) instead on all servers (unselect the legacy BMR and select instead the new ReaR BMR).  Please ensure you complete this by Jan 1 2016 to ensure you maintain BMR functionality moving forward as we will be removing an making the legacy BMR EOL at that point

We are pleased to introduce our new Linux BMR (ReaR) solution.  This new BMR is much more tightly integrated with our GUI, allows A LOT more flexibility, alone with, compatibility to restore more simply to different systems (including physical to virtual and virtual to physical and physical to physical/virtual to virtual in scenarios with non homogenous hardware and drivers)

Additionally, because a recovery ISO is created for each restore point, and the system does not rely on central media for all restores, any issues restoring via BMR are greatly reduced

instructions for using this new BMR can be seen here

Using this new BMR technology for server/VM migrations can be seen here

Lastly, this new Linux BMR supports booting restore images over the network (PXE booting) and in the future, we will be incorporating the entire restore process into the GUI and various modules (ie BaaS)

Thanks and please let us know if you have any additional questions
